Who We Are
Family Service Canada is a national network of leaders from community-based social service agencies across Canada. Through shared learning and leadership development, we strengthen our organizations to the benefit of Canadian families.
What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect it
When you leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, your IP address, and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
Personally identifiable information is collected when you provide it through the contact forms on our website. The specific information depends on the form and may change on occasion, but will commonly include details such as your name and agency role, your phone number and email, and the name and address of your agency. We use this information to complete the request you made by submitting the form.
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Additional cookies are added for analytics. See the analytics heading below for more information.
Embedded Content from other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, forms etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Family Service Canada has access to your registration information, including your name, email, agency, and registration date and time. We use this information to successfully run the event and ensure you receive the conference or event updates you need.

Interactions with Other Users
If you interact with other site users, those users may see your name, profile photo, and descriptions of your activity.
When you post comments, contributions or other content to the site, your posts may be viewed by all users. Those users may publicly distribute the content of your posts elsewhere in perpetuity.
How Long We Retain Your Data

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
