Melanie joined Kindred in 2022 and became CEO in July 2024 after serving as Chief Program Officer. With extensive non-profit leadership experience, she is dedicated to advancing Kindred’s purpose of realizing the power of human connection.

She is known for building strong partnerships that reduce sector silos and make services more accessible in the community. A Registered Social Worker, Melanie holds a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Royal Roads University and a Graduate Certificate in trauma-informed practice from the University of Calgary. Guided by compassion, learning, courage, and service, she helps others reach beyond what they thought possible.
